Ian Hickey

SEN teacher, School Senior Leader and Educational Psychotherapist

Ian qualified as a teacher in 1994 and has since worked across Sussex as a teacher and senior leader in schools.  In 2005 he qualified as an educational psychotherapist and has run supervision groups for school staff as well as delivering 1:1 therapy for children and young and consultations for parents.

Tom Gerber

SEN teacher, Outdoor Educator, Counselor

Tom has worked with SEN children and adults for the last 10 years as a forest school instructor, outdoor educator, class teacher and support worker. In addition to his SEND work, Tom is also a qualified Hakomi Counselor.

In the 20 years previous to teaching Tom worked outdoors on various continents as a native tree planter, wildland firefighter, wilderness trekking trail maintainer, organic farmer, gardener and wildlife biologist. He now lives in Sussex with his wife and young daughter.

Nicky Roland

Therapy and Wellbeing – Team Leader

Art Therapist – HCPC Registered, Private Practitioner – BAAT registered Mindfulness Teacher, Supervisor

Nicky was inspired to train as an art therapist following her time volunteering in Sri Lanka after the 2004 Tsunami, where she facilitated groups which enabled people to use images and words to express and process their experiences. In 2008 she obtained her MA in Art Psychotherapy at Goldsmiths University.

Nicky sees adults and children. Her clients include those who have experienced mental health problems, such as anxiety, depression and history of trauma/abuse. She has been working as an art therapist for several years in the NHS, voluntary sector and in private practice.
